The Mennonite Village Certified Nursing Assistant Program is a 150-hour course that meets the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) hours for Nursing Assistant training. The course has 75 hours of class and skills lab instruction and 75 clinical hours. This course includes instruction in basic nursing skills, restorative care, personal care skills, and patient rights. Students will learn to care for residents in a long-term care environment. After completing the course, the student receives nine Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) credits and a certificate of completion. The program is an excellent start for students interested in health careers.
Applications are available at Mennonite Village (see Tina King at front desk). New applications will be accepted February 15, 2010 for classes in June and July. Class size is limited to 10 students.
Prerequisites:
• A high school diploma or GED recommended
• Proof of immunizations
• Valid CPR certificate
• College placement test reading with a score of 31% or higher
• Criminal history check
This class includes heavy physical activity. You must be able to:
