| Public presentation: "How to avoid scams" |

In an effort to educate people about the scams targeting the 55+ age group, a consumer outreach coordinator, Althea Cullen, from Oregon Department of Justice will offer a free presentation at Lakeside Center.
She'll discuss real cases of fraud and scams that occured in Oregon. She'll also provide useful tips on how to avoid scams. |

Mennonite Village welcomed Father Andrew Thomas from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany who brought Eucharist and anointing to our residents at each level of care. Father came with assistants and the fifth and sixth graders from St. Mary's School. |

The Mennonite Village, a continuing care retirement community on the south side of Albany, has grown from one building with seven employees in 1947 to a sprawling campus with 700 residents, about 400 part- and full-time employees and a $22 million annual budget.
